As summer rapidly approaches teachers and parents both do their share of planning for the end of the school year; teachers with their lesson and testing plans and parents with the care of their children.
The Olathe School District sets their annual calendar in advance and builds in up to four days to accommodate for inclement weather or emergencies.
To aid with summer planning, here is each age group’s last day of school for the 2016-17 school year:
May 18 is the last day of school for high school seniors
May 24 is the last day of school for early childhood and PM kindergarten
May 25 is the last day of school for all grade levels and is also a half-day of school. Hours for May 25:
Kindergarten (all-day and AM)- Grade 5:8:20-11:40 a.m.
With Just $2.00 from every
Pleasant Ridge Family, you can help our school be SAFER!!!!!
Can
You Hear Me Now?
is a Fund-A-Need Grant I wrote last year to increase the number of Walkie
Talkies in our school. You may or may not know that as a school we
utilize our Walkie Talkies to ensure the safety of our students throughout the
bldg - inside and outside.
Currently, we have Walkie
Talkies in the hands of teachers whose rooms are Tornado/Severe Weather locations.
However, there have been times when we have needed more/additional walkie
talkies in the hands of ALL of our classrooms. I wish we wouldn't
have that need, but in our current world, we want to be prepared at Pleasant
Ridge. Here is the link to the Grant Request - https://www.olathepublicschoolsfoundation.org/fund-a-need/safe-schools-can-you-hear-me-now
If we can raise half of the
remaining amount, then we have a local business who will MATCH that
amount, allowing us to FULLY FUND this grant.
Can you
donate even just $2.00?
Granted, we may or may not get every family to do $2.00, so hopefully
some of our families would be willing to do $5, $10, or even $20. Bottom
line.....What cost do you place on your child's safety?
Thank You SO
Much for supporting your child's safety!
